This week, Bell Primary students were treated to a very special performance from the Northcote High School Concert Band. Made up of Grade 7 and 8 students (and some ex-Bell students), these kids did an amazing job and also taught us a bit about some of the instruments in this band. Thanks NHS!
During Term 3, a lunchtime Open Mic Club is held in the Music Room once a week where students from Grades 3 and 4 practice performing songs of their choice in front of an audience. Students can come and perform or just watch and enjoy the show! Some brave students have even been showcasing their own songwriting skills. Wow!
This term Grade 3 and 4 students have been working in small groups to write and perform their own raps. They used a template to structure their composition and had to rehearse and perform their rap to a backing track. Grade 3 students focused on performance and Grade 4 students focused on recording using the GarageBand software and created their own backing tracks.
