5/6I get creative with their backdrops!

Only one week away from the culmination of all the hard work that has gone into the Grade 5/6 Sound Art Project. Next week students will be performing their compositions to peers and teachers. 5/6I decided to take it to another level and create backdrops to enhance the experience of their performances – well done!

Preps explore the work of Gustav Klimt

Over the past three weeks the Preps have been looking at Gustav Klimt’s painting Tree Of Life (1909). Collaboratively, all five classes worked on a mural inspired by his painting using a variety of media including paint, photography, paper and tissue paper. The work is a celebration of texture, colour, positive and negative space, shape and line. In addition to their mural, each Prep student created a mini “Tree Of Life” in their art journal. If you’d like to see the work, it’s displayed just outside the art room – it’s truly beautiful. Bravo Preps!
