Preps respond to Hokusai’s Great Wave

Over a series of weeks, the Preps created three artworks inspired by The Great Wave (Hokusai, 1830). Using pastels, paints and collaging papers (created from their own abstract paintings) the Preps responded to the famous wood print. Although, one might look at these works and think they’re extremely loose abstract interpretations of the original artwork, the focus was on students experiencing different media and learning about cool colours. If you’d like to see these works, there is a display in the front foyer.
