The grade 1 and 2’s are putting the final touches to their animal rap rhythms. The students have been working on their animal raps over the term. Each class has already created a backing track in Garageband have recorded their small group and whole class raps. Stay tuned for the final mastered recordings.

The butterflies have hatched!
As promised, following on from the Prep’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar works – here are their butterflies!
Year 1 and 2 Dr. Seuss inspired fish paintings
I read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish to the Year 1 and 2 students. Although there are many weird and wonderful creatures in the story, we focused on the fish. The students did a series of developmental sketches before picking their favourite fish to enlarge and paint. The works turned out beautifully and were full of character and charm.
Tim Burton inspired spooky landscapes
Over the past five weeks the Year 3/4 students have been exploring the world of Tim Burton. As a class, we discussed Burton’s stylistic aesthetic and how he creates atmospheric scenes. During these lessons, the students learnt about shape in the form of silhouettes. Using water colour paints, permanent markers and paper the students created these wonderful haunted house landscapes.
